What We Believe

Subtitle that Highlights the Importance of Your Vision and Values

Our Mission

A mission statement is typically bold and concise, something memorable that a congregation can aspire to live into. Try to keep it under one short paragraph.

Doctrinal Overview

Spriggs Road Presbyterian Church (SRPC) is a particular church of the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA).  Therefore, doctrinally, SRPC is a confessional and a Reformed church.

We are a confessional church because we profess scripturally sound doctrines that are expressed in historical creeds and confessions. Accordingly, we look primarily to the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and Westminster Standards: the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Westminster Larger Catechism, and the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

Likewise, we are Reformed church because we affirm the core Protestant doctrines that came out of the Reformation of the 16th century, in general, and we follow the theological traditions of Calvinism, specifically.

Our Beliefs

Belief One

We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God, it is inspired by the Holy Spirit, and it is without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

Visitors will be critical of what they read on this page. It’s best to be transparent and authentic about who you are.

Belief Two

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Try to keep your images in the same “aspect ratio” like 1:1 (a square) or 16:9 (widescreen). This will help maintain a strong grid. Also consider using the same amount of text lines before the “show more” button to maintain a strong grid. Your overflow can be of variable length.

Belief Three

We believe that all are sinners and are totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

Trinity, Prayer, Social Justice, Baptism, Salvation, etc.

Belief Four

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

Doing so will help you to maintain a strong grid while not overwhelming your visitors.

Belief Five

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him alone for salvation.

Belief Six

We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.
